Challenge-It Help
How to play
Tap or scan your Challenge-It fob, choose how you want to play, then take on the challenge.
Getting started
Activate your fob
Use the Activate page with your fob code, activation code and dashboard password.
Tap or scan
Tap the NFC fob against a compatible phone or scan its QR code. There is no app to install.
Choose a game mode
The challenge stays hidden until you choose how you want to play.
Play the challenge
Once the mode is selected, the challenge is revealed and its timer starts.
Choose how to play
Every scan gives you five ways to play the challenge.
Randomly Select a Player
Challenge-It randomly chooses one of your active players. That player takes on the challenge.
Select a Player
Choose exactly who should take on the challenge.
Head to Head
Everyone taking part plays the same challenge. If the challenge is completed, select every player who succeeded.
All Play
The whole group can take part. If the challenge is completed, select the players who succeeded.
Other Player
Use this when the person playing is not one of your saved players. Their result does not affect the leaderboard.
Timer and results
Up to 20 minutes
A challenge can have its own time limit, with a maximum of 20 minutes. The countdown begins when the game mode is confirmed and the challenge is revealed.
+ 5 minutes
When the challenge timer reaches zero, you have another five minutes to record the result. If no result is recorded before that window ends, the challenge is automatically treated as failed.
For Head to Head and All Play, pressing Complete takes you to a results screen where you choose who succeeded. Confirm those results before the final deadline.
Players and scoring
Saved players build up their own played, completed and failed totals.
Random Player / Select Player
Complete: the selected player gets 1 played and 1 completed.
Failed: the selected player gets 1 played and 1 failed.
Head to Head
Complete: selected winners get a completed result. Every participating player not selected gets a failed result.
Failed: every participating player gets a failed result.
All Play
Complete: only the players you select as successful receive a played/completed result.
Failed: no player statistics are changed.
Other Player
Complete: no saved-player statistics are changed.
Failed: no saved-player statistics are changed.
The leaderboard uses each player's saved results, so their totals remain available after individual challenge sessions have finished.
Your dashboard
Your dashboard is now split into three simple areas.
Manage Players
Add players, rename them, remove them from active play or restore them later.
Manage Categories
Choose the types of challenges you want the fob to use. Select All Categories for the full mix, or choose your own combination.
Manage Difficulty
Choose Mixed, Easy, Medium or Hard to control the level of challenges your fob can deliver.
Challenge allowance
Simply scanning the fob does not use one of your purchased challenges. A challenge is counted once you choose a game mode and actually start it.
Troubleshooting
The fob will not open.
Try scanning the QR code with your phone camera. Make sure you have an internet connection and that the fob has been activated.
I cannot choose Random Player, Select Player, Head to Head or All Play.
Those modes need active saved players. Open Dashboard → Manage Players and add or restore at least one player.
I scanned the fob but changed my mind.
If you leave before selecting a game mode, the challenge has not started and it does not use one of your purchased challenges.
I closed the page during a challenge.
The challenge still has its server-side deadline. If it is not resolved by the end of the challenge time plus the five-minute result window, it will be treated according to the timeout rules for that game mode.
My challenge mix is wrong.
Open Dashboard → Manage Categories and Manage Difficulty, check your selections and save them.
Ready to play?
